Itinerary

Day 1–2: Rome – Classical & Baroque Foundations
Begin in Rome, with guided visits to the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Pantheon, followed by a private tour of Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel after-hours. Enjoy an al fresco dinner near Piazza Navona.

Day 3: Assisi – Sacred Simplicity
Travel to Assisi, home of St. Francis. Marvel at the Basilica di San Francesco, with frescoes by Giotto and Cimabue. Overnight in a restored Franciscan convent turned luxury retreat.

Day 4–5: Florence – The Cradle of the Renaissance
Explore Florence, with insider access to the Uffizi Gallery, Duomo, and the Medici Chapels. Visit an artisan studio specializing in scagliola (inlaid plaster) or gold-leaf gilding. Evening at leisure along the Arno.

Day 6: Bologna – Intellectual & Culinary Capital
Continue to Bologna, Italy’s oldest university town. Visit the anatomical theater, walk under endless porticos, and sample traditional dishes. Optional visit to the Museo Morandi or MAMbo, the modern art museum.

Day 7: Ravenna – Mosaic Mastery
Day trip to Ravenna, former Byzantine capital. Explore the shimmering mosaics of San Vitale and Galla Placidia, UNESCO World Heritage gems. Return to Bologna for dinner.

Day 8–10: Venice & Padua – Light, Water & Devotion
Arrive in Venice via train. Visit St. Mark’s Basilica, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, and secret corners of the Dorsoduro. Take a private boat to Torcello or explore the glassblowers of Murano.
In Padua, view Giotto’s Scrovegni Chapel, one of the most influential fresco cycles in Western art.

Day 11–13: Milan – Contemporary & Classical
End in Milan, Italy’s design and fashion capital. Visit Santa Maria delle Grazie to see Leonardo’s Last Supper, explore the Brera Art Gallery, and the dramatic architecture of Fondazione Prada. Farewell dinner in a rooftop restaurant overlooking the Duomo.
